Strawberry Fields Forever.

I've never grown strawberries and I choose to plant them because it's something I've never done. After listening to a combination of friends, co-workers, and the nursery where I purchased the plants from, I decided to plant my strawberries in the ground in a sunny, well-drained spot. I went back and forth on whether to plant them in containers or in the ground. Even though most of the friends I know who have planted them in containers have found success, I went with planting my red berries in the ground. From what I've read the chances of them returning are better and let's face it, as a first time strawberry planter I need all the help I can get.

No strawberries will grow this season so, to pass the time I will find as many delicious strawberry recipes as I can. I want to be fully prepared for when I actually have some fruit.
